I definitely do no recommend ever paying full price for this place. Thankfully I got a good deal on black Friday or this review might be a bit different. The rooms are very spacious but definitely need updating. The front lobby was very nice but crowded, cold and not a lot work Employees around they want you to check in on a kiosk. We did not have to communicate with anyone at the front desk our entire trip. The room was ready several hours early which was nice and I like that you can go to the water park while you wait for your room but not very informative staff and the few encounters we did have with staff they were not very friendly. My Daughter had a blast at the water park but it was extremely hot in their to a point it felt like it was hard for us to breathe. The chlorine starts to burn your eyes as soon as you walk in. After 3 hours my Sister and I were sick from it and we all had to leave. I do love that the ground was not slick at all and it is easy to get around. Also pretty easy to keep an eye on your kids. The food as at most Hotels was very expensive and not very impressive but your room has a refrigerator and a microwave. Also the water park has showers and a changing area for people waiting on your room to be ready. They also still had the Christmas Tree's up and they were absolutely Beautiful!

Overall, the hotel and its concept is nice, but has its annoyances and we had higher expectations. Room: Stayed in the Wolf Den Suite, the overall arrangement of the room was awesome, kids had their own nook which gave us parents a little more of our own space, even within the same room. However, bathroom was small and in our case, falling apart...the faucet in the tub looked like it could pop off at any moment. Also, it was not the cleanest, which is my biggest complaint. There were small/minor trash found from the previous guests that my kids found, and one of my daughters came home with lice in her hair which does not seem to have another explanation (could be coincidence, but unlikely). We ran out of soap after the first night, but cleaning staff didn't come by to replenish so we had to call them, and then they ended up bringing the wrong thing (fortunately resolved, just annoying) Amenities: The best part is the water park--my kids had a blast. They have life vests, ample seating, and a good/flexible towel service. The entertainment throughout the day is fun, especially for the kids, and they do a good job with staying to theme which adds a special touch to the whole stay. The problem is the rest--everything is an extra charge (fairly expensive), and is annoying because it's largely set up as you walk your way to the water area. Also, not everything works, but the staff is accommodating to this. Food: Breakfast buffet was decent. Lots of variety (including a small gluten-free selection), great for the kids. Expensive, but we had it as part of the breakfast package. We did not eat other meals at the GWL, we brought some of our own, easy-to-make dinners (microwave and mini fridge in room) and left the lodge for lunch. We only bought popcorn one night at GWL. Staff: Very friendly. We paid for the virtual reality experience, but when the head sets didn't work, they reimbursed us and compensated for it, which was greatly appreciated.
