Had a one night stay here whilst in Nottingham for a concert at the Motorpoint Arena. The room was clean and tidy,the heating lovely and warm and the bed was huge and extremely comfortable. We paid for a breakfast which was really nice and quite a good selection too. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay.

“Rock City overnight stay”

5* just for central location (5 min walk to Rock City) and absolute bargain price £60 single room, dinner b&b! Yep, it's not swish, but it's far from falling apart. 5* just for central location (5 min walk to Rock City) and absolute bargain price £60 single room, dinner b&b! Yep, it's not swish, but it's far from falling apart. Clean and tidy, food is good as are the staff. I seen a few comments about parking being an issue and I've read that the Euro Parks parking, that is offered with a hotel discount, is fine if you're not driving anything much bigger than a mini - both otherwise a scary squeeze. I found street parking a few hundred yards away (Derby Road) and it's not expensive (cheaper than multi-storey) £6 overnight 6pm to 10am Only moan was that the room was a bit too hot.

Stayed here for a couple of nights with the Peel hotels golden ticket offer. The hotel has a cracking city centre location, also lots of fab quality real ale pubs near by. Parking is an issue, the recommended euro car parks hotel is an underground monstrosity, the many scrapes on its walls a sad testament! My executive room #214 was spacious and well maintained. Lots of storage space and a small tv. Quirky bathroom, fairly good illumination, but no shelving and repainted tiles and bath, also a very powerful shower. The hotel is an unusual design, lots of stairs, a hydraulic lift is also available. Sadly I didn’t see anyone in the large bar. Breakfast is decent, nice freshly cooked full English. Dinner is by request only, it was included in my offer, and exceeded expectations. Portions are large, lamb shank, Cajun chicken and duck breast all decent. The cheeseboard was absolutely huge, so leave lots of room! All staff encountered were very friendly. The Strathdon is a slightly off the wall sort of place, much more fun than the usual budget brands though.

“Good Value for Money”

The hotel is in a great location for those wanting easy access to the city centre. We stayed in room 213 - nice and quiet. Decór is a bit dated but we still enjoyed our stay. Our en-suite had a bathtub which was good. I would stay here again as it was good value for money.
