“Close to the YUL Airport. Great Hotel. Ditch the Parking $$ Fee.”

Stayed for one night prior to taking our family vacation to Cuba. Was here in the Summer (2023) as well. Location is excellent in proximity to the YUL airport (no more than a 3-5min drive). Stayed for one night prior to taking our family vacation to Cuba. Was here in the Summer (2023) as well. Location is excellent in proximity to the YUL airport (no more than a 3-5min drive). Nicely appointed rooms, friendly front desk staff, and a great restaurant and bar (which closes at 10pm). I cannot, however, understand the additional charge for parking. While it has in and out privilidges, charging you an additional $25.00 per night is ridiculous. Overall, I would certainly stay again.

“Nice property, but a few crucial misses”

Have stayed at this property in two separate occasions in June and July 2024. The proximity to the airport — and being a Hilton property — was the major selling point to me, and it checks that box. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Parking (outdoor) is easy and secure. I stayed in rooms 142 and 315. No issues with either room, except the air conditioner is limited at 18C. Room 315’s AC did a poor job cooling, with the room rarely reaching below 22C, even when set to 18C. Additionally, it is an adjoining room, and a family with loud children were placed beside me. Due to my work schedule, I sleep during the afternoon and evening, and my sleep was considerably affected by the poor cooling and loud kids. For this reason, I now choose to stay at a different Hilton property in town. Overall, I would consider staying at this property again if I for some reason HAD to be very near to YUL.

I’m surprised other reviews don’t mention the odd layout of this hotel. It looks like it’s an older property that has been renovated, and our room was nice with contemporary touches. I’m surprised other reviews don’t mention the odd layout of this hotel. It looks like it’s an older property that has been renovated, and our room was nice with contemporary touches. However, the corridors of rooms spread out like a spider from the central lobby, and in some cases it’s quite a hike to get to your room. We arrived tired after a long flight from Europe, and were surprised we had to haul our luggage such a long way to get to our first floor room. Then when I went back and asked how I could park closer to the room, I was told to park in Zone 3 of the paid parking lot. Okay…so I entered the lot, drove around to Zone 3, parked and tried to enter the closest entrance I saw. Couldn’t get in. There was no card reader there. So…I went around to the next door I saw where there was a card reader that allowed me to enter…but it didn’t seem like that led me to anywhere near where my room was. I finally found a closer entrance in Zone 4. I just think the front desk staff should explain the odd layout of the hotel to first time guests. We’ve stayed at many, many Hilton properties over the years and I don’t think any of them have required such a long slog down multiple corridors just to get to our room. I will give front desk staff credit for comping us the parking fee after I complained (in travel weary frustration, I admit) about not getting better information about how to park closer to our room.

The hotel is close to the airport, which is why we selected it, since we had a very early flight. The room was clean, but small and old fashioned. It was not as large or as nice as other DoubleTree hotels we’ve visited. The receptionists were friendly, but could not accommodate the request we had made in the booking for a room with a view of the airport. That was disappointing.
