Second visit.... I intend to become a regular visitor to this “ home away from home”. Not flash but a bit more than just nice. Second visit.... I intend to become a regular visitor to this “ home away from home”. Not flash but a bit more than just nice. Comfortable, spotlessly clean, not 5 stars but worth at least 4.5 ( no pool or gym sob, sob.... who cares?) Might I suggest that your toiletries aren’t quite there yet? People expect to use a different product for shampoo and conditioner than they do for body wash. Just a suggestion. Parking available, wonderful location, close to the CBD. Staff who are are helpful, kind and communicative. I look forward to returning. Thank you. ( PS Loved the divergence from THAT boring brand of tea bags. Love the new ones) thank you for a really pleasant stay.

“A great stay”

Ideal location and easy to access the city, local food and services. Princes Park, bike/walking tracks over the road. The tram stop is right outside, and train line a 5 minute walk away. The room was very clean and the communal laundry easily accessed. Storage for bikes /luggage etc, was also handy… Più

The room was very clean and the communal laundry easily accessed. Storage for bikes /luggage etc, was also handy. The service was excellent - Thank you to the staff who made me feel very welcome and well looked after.

“Six nights, amazing hospitality”

Six nights in in Melbourne to be by my father’s bedside after a major heart attack. Hanging with Mum, hours at St. Vincent’s Private hospital every day. Mum and Dad are farmers from a tiny town on NSW border (Finley) and have been staying at this motel, when in Melbourne, for close to 30 yrs. I’m usually a five-star-city-hotel gal but Mum needed to be where she felt comfortable. I highly recommend this motel as a hidden gem. Immaculately clean, couldn’t hear any traffic noise when inside the room, great pillows and sheets and super comfortable bed - renovated modern bathroom with plenty of towels. Only 50m to the nearest tram and many cafes and restaurants in walking distance. But my key takeaway is how much the management and staff care! Ok, they know Mum - she’s been staying there for years, but really it amounts to 4-7 nights each year and she hadn’t been there for two years! They were genuinely concerned for her welfare, asked after Dad morning and evening and did not bat an eye when we added days to our stay. They celebrated any good news we shared about Dad’s recovery too. Footnote: my 90 year old father was discharged today and I’m flying back to Qld. My brother is coming down from the farm to pick them up. Dad will return next month to have a stent put in and I know Mum will be well looked after then, too.

Positives - Quick easy check in no annoying bonds just ID/CC and signature. - Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. - Great free parking on premises but could get full at night time. - Location could not have been more ideal very easy to transport to city multiple methods to chose from, lots of green space across the street, wonderful eating out and shopping walking distance. - Air con worked great while also option to open windows and allow natural air to flow through. - Good amount of closet and storage space in both room types. Negatives - Staff(not all half n half) answers to questions & way I was treated ranged differently depending on which individual I happened to be dealing with at the time. Some were exceptionally friendly and willing to assist as best they could while others were short worded/quick to answer ur question but suddenly very outspoken sharing with you their own opinions about irrelevant things. Now while no negative comments were made about me personally(directly to me at least) to say certain things about any people in general gives off impression of a judgmental person and they are obviously working at a place they feel comfortable sharing such opinions at ease. - Bathrooms. I don’t care about decor yes it’s dated but just want facilities to be clean(which they were) and in working order which In both room types improvements could be made to practicality and particularly showering not a pleasant experience. Hotel room shower very hard to get temperature right and very tight moving around. While apartment u had to get yourself up and over a bathtub quite a considerable stretch above the ground and also the foldable shower screen was confusing to use and no where other than edges of bathtub to leave toiletries and again hard to get the right Temperature either far too hot or cold. Other things to note is hotel room they give nice biscuits and housekeeping will come every day. In apartment I can’t recall perhaps got coffee but defintely were no biscuits so I guess since ur choosing room type with kitchen facilities they assume u want to bring own food so don’t provide biscuits and zero attentiveness nobody checks on how everything is going when in apartments. Special thank you to the housekeeping staff working in actual hotel rooms they were always friendly and made me feel welcome going out of their way to check if anything else I needed during my 2 and a half day stay. Overall while first visit was a wonderful encounter; the second longer stay allowed me to experience negative side as well. So I would recommend this for 2-3night hotel stays but if longer there is far greater value out there in less perfect but still nearby locations which better facilities and atmosphere.
