“Super hotel”

I just came back from vacation in this hotel. I am very pleased with the stay, the manager and all the hotel staff very nice, helpful and smiling :). “Friendly Staff... A Few Extra Costs...”

We arrived at 1am to the hotel and were immediately greeted by 2 men a reception who spoke rather good English (to our pleasant surprise). They were fast and efficient in giving us our room key and collecting payment for amenities I would expect to be provided. Be warned that despite the lowest temperature we experienced being 28 Degrees Centigrade, you have to pay extra for air-conditioning. On top of that, you must pay for wi-fi (per device) and to have access tot he safe which is already in your room. Please note the wi-fi is very temperamental. When we made our booking for a couple, we did not expect to have a twin bedroom, to then be told they are all twin rooms and just to push the beds together if we wanted- not the most romantic retreat but oh well. (The beds and pillows and sheets were unfortunately very uncomfortable but they do the job). Black out curtains were very effective though. The facilities in the self catering were standard- crockery and cutlery supplied, pots and pan as well as a portable hob and a kettle. Not very much space though to use. The sofas were also very uncomfortable, but the air-conditioning is only for the bedroom so you wouldn't spend much time in the kitchen/ lounge anyway. The lounge also had a TV which we tried to turn on at one point and could not get an picture (we did not inform hotel staff so it may have been an easy fix). The bathroom was very small, with a shower toilet and sink and mirror. there was no extractor fan so steamed up a lot, and no foot towel for when you stepped out the shower, so it was very slippery for a long time after. No soap (hand soap or shower soap) was provided. Toilet brush holder was provided but we did not use due to thick mould at the base. Maid service was efficient and daily with fresh towels and toilet roll provided. Balcony is small and has 2 plastic chairs and a plastic table available. One of our chairs was broken though and collapsed when sat on. There are laundry airers provided outside the balcony which were very handy. The pool was very clean and despite not being heated, the temperature in Turkey meant that it wasn't necessary. There is one water slide (despite more being advertised) and you have to ask at the bar for it to be turned on, where it would remain on for 10 minutes before you'd have to ask again. They wouldn't be best pleased when you ask for it to be turned on multiple times and we were sometimes asked to wait. We also bought breakfast whilst we were there (as we did not know we were self catered). It was unnecessary and quite limited. If you don't like eggs don't get breakfast. On the bright side, you can have it at any point in the day, so no rush to wake up early. Beach is a good 15-20 minute walk away. On Tuesday's there is a market at the end of the road as you turn left out of the hotel selling a lot of clothes and knock off items. Further down on the way to the beach there was also a food market selling mostly fruit and veg. Beach is not fine sand, just grainy and gets very hot (Kleopatra Beach). Plenty of nice eateries around and a small supermarket right next to the hotel. Most people on our stay spoke some English and we overall enjoyed the time we spent. (Sunbeds and umbrellas are around the pool and very comfy! Although don't expect to sunbathe past 4pm as the hotel blocks the sun!) Would perhaps stay closer to the beach next time.
